it all began when…

We started eliminating as many chemicals as possible from our family’s daily life. Where we struggled the most was with personal care products. Because of the many loopholes in FDA regulations, it’s hard to know exactly what we are putting on our bodies. After researching extensively, the products we found were expensive and hard to come by. That’s when we decided it was time to learn how to make our own.

As a sufferer of contact dermatitis, I researched what would be best for my easily irritated, very dry skin. All signs pointed to goat milk. Great news, because who doesn’t love goats, right?! As it turns out, goat milk is isn’t only good for sensitive skin and eczema suffers, it’s just good for skin, period. (Visit the Why Goat Milk page to delve deeper into this topic.) Here at Goat Hill Soap Shop we raise the cutest, happiest Nigerian Dwarf goats on grass, hay, and just a little organic grain.

Our soaps are handcrafted in small batches with raw organic goat milk, the highest quality oils and butters, and pure Young Living essential oils. They are also free of all junk such as parabens, synthetic fragrances, dyes, phthalates, sulfates, and synthetic preservatives. And, because we care about our planet as much as we care about our bodies, our products are also made without any palm oil whatsoever. The only word you may not recognize on our ingredients list is sodium hydroxide, which is lye. You simply can’t have soap without lye.

After years of perfecting our recipes, we are very excited to offer to you high quality, nourishing, products that are as close to nature as you can get. Give goat milk a try, and you will be amazed in the difference you see in your skin. My dry, easily irritated skin is a thing of the past. We have a soap and lotion combination that is perfect for everyone.
